This is the time of year when the ghouls and goblins come out and knock on your door, screaming “Trick or treat, smell my feet…”well you get the idea. It’s also the time of year candy is most prevalent. As a Lab owner, you will want to make sure during this holiday season, starting with Halloween; candy is kept out of reach of your puppy or adult Lab. Eating sweets can start a serious craving for candy and it can also be dangerous! Chocolate is the big danger. Theobromine, also known as xantheose, is a bitter alkaloid of the cacao plant, found in chocolate, as well as in a number of chocolate-free foods made from theobromine sources including the leaves of the tea plant, the kola or cola nut, and acai berries. Because dogs metabolize Theobromine more slowly, they can succumb to Theobromine poisoning from just 50 grams of chocolate. In the event your Labrador puppy ingests chocolate, use the reference below to determine how much Theobromine he really consumed.

Black, yellow and chocolate! Check out http://www.labpups.com/lab-pup-litters.htm to view all available puppies.

DSCF9580-150.jpgLab Jamboree was a total success! The weather cooperated and proved to be warm and sunny. Everyone that attended had a great time. State of Art played an amazing line up of great music. The pace was just right and the music wasn’t too loud. twitter_logo_header.gifTwitter & Labpupsdotcom. What on earth is twitter you might ask? Twitter.com has proved to be an incredible communication tool. This free service has allowed us to stay in touch with our customers. I have been able to post new information about our lifestyle with Labs, new litters, stories, comments and a whole lot more. With the click of a mouse, everyone that subscribes will be notified. Whether you use an iphone, blackberry, palm, email or ESP (Sorry, I don’t know what service provider supports ESP service, maybe god?), you can stay in touch with us and the puppies. I would encourage those of you that are weary of a new technology; Twitter is safe and won’t bite (byte maybe). Follow http://twitter.com/labpupsdotcom

Until next time,
