Foster Parent Program

In order to socialize our pups and adults, we utilize foster parents to birth and look after some of our females. Their duties include attending our foster parents training seminar, reviewing the standard operating procedures, and passing a test. Should the foster parents pass the grade, they take temporary possession of the female we select for their family. They do not administer vaccines, make trips to the veterinarian, breed, or perform any duties other than feeding and socializing the pups and mom. Foster parents are rewarded for each pup they successfully raise.

They apply for foster parent status for many reasons, such as allowing their children to gain knowledge and learn responsibility, but they all voice a true appreciation for Labradors.

In most cases, foster parents bond with the female they have been caring for, and we may offer them the chance to permanently adopt the female Labrador when she reaches the end of motherhood.

Lease Program

On occasion, a foster parent may own a female they wish to breed. Most of these will be Labradors that originally came from Labpups.com, but on occasion we are presented with a Labrador not from our lineage that we may agree to breed. In either case, x-rays of hips and elbows must be performed prior to breeding and read by a veterinarian experienced in bone formation. Dogs, whether leased or belonging to us, must be on a strict diet of JaxMax. There is no difference in the way a Labrador Retriever is handled whether we own the Lab or it is a leased Lab.

Interested in Foster Program?

The qualities we are looking for in foster parents are the abilities to follow directions explicitly and to have a natural appreciation for what they are doing. There is no sense applying if you don’t love Labs. For application, click here
