What's included

First-year costs to budget for

The purchase price is only part of the cost of a new puppy. Plan ahead for:

  • Food sized for a growing large-breed puppy
  • Routine vet visits and the rest of the puppy vaccination series
  • A crate and bedding
  • Collar, leash, bowls and toys
  • Grooming supplies
  • Training, from home practice to classes or our obedience training program

Every breeder sets prices differently. When you compare, ask what is included and what is in writing:

  • AKC registration papers
  • Whether puppies are raised in the home and socialized before going home

  • Vaccinations, deworming and a microchip before going home
  • Breeder support after you take your puppy home

How to reserve

Some litters are reserved by selection position. Your $1,200 deposit holds the next open selection position (1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on) for the sex you choose. Families choose their puppy in selection-position order, so your actual puppy is determined once prior selections have been made.
